Ja der Trailer ist genial. Den gibts auch auf Youtube und ich als ich den vor ner Weile gefunden hatte, musste ich mir den unbedingt auf meine Myspace-seite verlinken...so toll fand ich den. Leider steht da jetzt 2006. Hatte schon ein paar verdutzte Anfragen von irgendwelchen Leuten von myspace. Die wollten doch tatsächlich wissen, ob der Film tatsächlich im Kino lief, da sie es gar nicht mitgekriegt hatten *Loool*

bor, ich freu mich auch schon total auf den film, vor allem weil die geschichte soviel action-potential hat, von spinnen, über adler, über trolle und nicht zu vergessen natürlich smaug!

Smaug wird sicher richtig genial werden....Ich freu mich schon so sehr drauf.

Aber hoffendlich machen sie Smaug nicht so hässlich wie die im Film "Herschaft des Feuers"

The Hobbit, a movie to remember

For all those who have seen and enjoyed Peter Jackson's 'the Lord of the Rings' trilogy, his cooperation with Metro Goldwyn Mayer in the eagerly-anticipated adaptation of JRR Tolkien's 'The Hobbit' was the best Christmas news.

On December 18, 2007 it was announced that Jackson, his long-time collaborator Fran Walsh and New Line would join with MGM to make the Hobbit movie, which is a prequel to LOTR. Jackson will be the executive producer of the movie, co-financed by the two companies.

The news was already thrilling for all Tolkien fans, who wished to see his Middle-Earth on the silver screen once again. But one can imagine much more thrill when MGM talked about two prequels, one from 'The Hobbit' story and the other from the sixty years that is the set between the Hobbit and LOTR, much derived from Tolkien's appendices to the latter, as well as his posthumous 'The Silmarillion'.

The Hobbit was published in 1937, much earlier than LOTR and it's relatively 'lightweight' compared to LOTR, to use Jackson's words. Tolkien had not then developed Middle-Earth so expansively and with such depth as in LOTR. The making of two prequels was justified for Jackson as there were some gaps in the story which were later filled by the publication of the trilogy in the mid-50s. It was not known for the Hobbit reader where Gandalf had disappeared in the middle of the story. It is revealed in LOTR that he went to meet the White Council to find a way to counter Sauron, the main antagonist in the trilogy.

The shooting of both films will take place through 2009 in New Zealand, and each film will be released in December 2010 and December 2011 respectively. The set for Bag End and the miniatures of Rivendell were kept after the production of LOTR. So we will see the familiar places and actors in LOTR.

Orlando Bloom, Viggo Mortensen, Cate Blanchett and Elijah Wood have said they would reprise their roles as Legolas, Aragorn, Galadriel and Frodo respectively with Jackson, and now that he is there, even as executive producer, they will probably be in the movies too. Ian McKellen was keen to reprise the part of Gandalf. Jackson had told him, "You must play Gandalf whether I direct or not."

Fans can see nobody in the role of Gollum but Andy Serkis who is eager to reprise his role as one of the most complicated characters in Tolkien's fiction. It is uncertain whether Hugo Weaving will play Elrond in the Hobbit. The matter is a bit different for Christopher Lee. His relationship with Jackson became chilly after the scene of Saruman's death was cut from the theatrical edition of the Return of the King; a scene which Lee believed was a key narrative element in the story.

However, it is unlikely that either Jackson or Lee would miss this chance, Lee being a devout fan of Tolkien who reads LOTR once a year and whose knowledge of the book was constantly a source of guidance for Jackson during the filming of the trilogy. He was also the only one in the LOTR cast who had met Tolkien in person.

As for the director of the films, one thing is for sure, Jackson will not direct the films, as he is already engaged with the Lovely Bones and Tintin. Sam Raimi (Spiderman) and Guillermo Del Toro (Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth) have voiced interest in the job.

Many characters in the Hobbit are not present in LOTR, so speculation about new actors in the movie has not been less. The first question is whether the 76-year-old Ian Holm will be able to play Bilbo again considering the fact that in the Hobbit Bilbo is about 26 years younger than what we see in LOTR. Many actors have been rumored to replace him in the movie, including Shia Lebouef, Colin Firth, and Holm's son Barnaby.

For other new characters, big names like Russel Crowe, Daniel Day Lewis, Johnny Depp, Ralph Fieness, Hugh Jackman, Clive Owen, Joaquin Phoenix and a dozen more have been mouthed.

The board is set. It will be a movie to remember.

Den Zwist zwischen Christopher Lee und Peter Jackson hatte ich glatt vergessen. Hups. Aber die Beiden werden sich da schon sicher einigen können.

Hoffendlich kommt das auch alles so!

Also Ian Mc Kellen muss auf alle Fälle Gandalf spielen!

Hm, 2009 wird der gedreht? also bis jetzt stand für mich nur fest, dass ich 2009 ein Work in Holiday Jahr im Ausland verbringe, ich wusste noch nicht ob in Kanada oder in Neu Seeland. Ich glaub jetzt weis ichs :-D
